Visiting Bonobos

One of the main reasons bonobos are so little known and studied is that they live in one of the most difficult places to reach on earth- the rainforests of the Congo DRC. Thick jungle, war and neglected infrastructure has meant that apart from a few hardy scientists and conservationists, and the indigenous people who share their habitat, almost noone has seen the bonobos in the wild.

All the directors of BCIA have made this journey to see the bonobos and are familiar with the procedures involved. BCIA is not a travel agency but we can assist those interested in visiting bonobos in the wild. Priority is given to academic researchers, conservationists, aid workers, volunteers, media and significant donors.
